Mosaic is a fitting medium for representing an aquatic center. Though the pool behind the wall is not tiled, the blue tiles arranged to create this structure give the subtle allusion to fun in the sun - and water. It is a very inviting piece of work and a great foreshadowing of the fun to be had beyond the gate.
