Andrew Hadle was born in the Flint
Hills to a school teacher and a homebuilder. His boyhood
home stood amidst the trees of a young forest. He attended
a county school, which rested between a wheat field and
white-washed church with a cemetery.
Immersed in nature
as a youth, Andrew found affection for ambient exploration
as well as the anticipation of discovery. His childhood
experience has influenced the art he makes as well as his
goals for education. In the fall of 2000 he moved to Lawrence
as a student at the University of Kansas. This spring he
will receive an undergraduate degree in fine arts with
a concentration in sculpture. In addition to sculpture
he is also entertained by natural sciences. He believes
that science is an attempt to explain life and that art
is used to translate our life experiences. He is a sculptor;
he builds art to translate what life teaches. |
